Yoga for Pregnancy
Relaxation techniques to use during pregnancy, suitable from 14 weeks to the due date.
Yoga helps you to prepare physically, mentally and emotionally for labour, birth and beyond. It helps to relieve many of the usual pregnancy discomforts and enhances your sense of well-being.
Allow this amazing journey to unfold with a little help from Yoga.
Practicing Yoga during Pregnancy . builds strength and flexibility . deepens the loving connection with your baby . improves posture and optimal foetal positioning . develops comfort and ease in birth positions . helps to build confidence in your ability to birth
Classes include yoga postures to open and release tension in the body, breathing exercises for pregnancy and labour, visualisations and relaxation. Positions for labour and active birth, massage techniques and tips for partners attending the birth are also intertwined into each class. And if you'd like to continue the good work at home, handouts accompany most classes.
Su is a specialist teacher for Yoga for Pregnancy and Post-natal Yoga, trained at the Active Birth Centre in London with Jane Balaskas. She also runs 'Preparing for Birth' workshops and 'We're in this together!' a workshop for couples preparing for the big day! The rest of the time she is a Mum.
Monday nights, 7.30 to 9.00 p.m. £6 a class.
